Project Overview

What Is Project Noble Peace?

Respite on Reach is a VR meditation experience set inside a D77-TC Pelican dropship hovering over the planet Reach from the Halo universe. No firefights. No objectives. No HUD. Just you, the low hum of the engines, and the hauntingly beautiful vistas of a world worth remembering.

It’s a love letter to the quiet moments of the Halo franchise — the space between missions where the world felt vast, lonely, and incredible.

The Concept

Most VR games put you in the middle of the action. This one doesn’t. Respite on Reach asks a different question: what would it feel like to just be there — to sit in the back of the bird, watch the rain streak across the cockpit glass, and breathe?

The project is built for people who grew up with Halo and want something more than a firefight — a meditative, atmospheric escape using the aesthetic they already love.

Environments

The Storm of New Alexandria — rain streaks across the cockpit glass as the city skyline flickers below. The storm never sounded so peaceful.

High Altitude Drift — hover above the clouds of the Epoz Mountains, listening to the muffled roar of the Pelican’s thrusters.

The Hangar Bay — settle into the troop bay, feel the deck plates vibrate, and just enjoy the ride.

Technical Highlights

  • 360° spatial audio — positional engine hum, ambient Reach soundtracks, environmental weather
  • Haptic integration — subtle vibration feedback compatible with most haptic vests and controllers
  • Diegetic UI — interact with in-world consoles and a handheld tablet; no floating menus
  • Comfort-first design — built specifically to reduce VR discomfort during long sessions
